श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Even when a virtuous being must return to human birth due to the exhaustion of accumulated merit, the fruits of prior righteousness remain: life tends to be less obstructed, more fearless, and conducive to peaceful prosperity. The verse highlights the protective momentum of dharma and puṇya across births.
Śrī Mahādeva is instructing Devī about the post-mortem trajectory of a righteous person. He explains that after enjoying the results of merit, if rebirth occurs, it is characterized by fewer afflictions and a calmer, more successful human life—describing this as the way of the good.
