एतेन विधिना मर्त्य: श्रद्धधान: समाहित: । चतुरो वार्षिकान्‌ मासान्‌ यो ददाति तिलोदकम्‌

Transliteration

Dhaumya uvāca: etena vidhinā martyaḥ śraddadhānaḥ samāhitaḥ | caturo vārṣikān māsān yo dadāti tilodakam ||

Translation

ທ່ານ ທໍມະຍະ ກ່າວວ່າ: “ມະນຸດຜູ້ມີສັດທາ ແລະມີໃຈຮວບຮວມ ຖ້າປະຕິບັດຕາມວິທີນີ້—ໃນສີ່ເດືອນແຫ່ງລະດູຝົນ ຖວາຍນ້ຳປົນງາແກ່ປິຕຣ—ຍ່ອມໄດ້ບຸນກຸສົນອັນໃຫຍ່. ຄຳສອນນີ້ເນັ້ນວ່າ ການຮັກສາໜ້າທີ່ຕໍ່ບັນພະບຸລຸດ (pitṛ-tarpaṇa) ຢ່າງມີວິໄນ ແລະຕໍ່ເນື່ອງ ດ້ວຍຄວາມຈິງໃຈ ແລະສະຕິສົມາທິ—ບໍ່ແມ່ນເພື່ອອວດອ້າງ—ເປັນທາງອັນມີພະລັງໃນການສະສົມຜົນແຫ່ງທຳ.”
