धौग्य उवाच
Ritual merit and even truth-speaking do not bear full fruit without inner purification; an impure heart leads to downfall, while purity of heart is presented as the decisive ethical standard.
In Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction-focused discourse, Dhāumya delivers a moral admonition: external religious acts (yajña) are not sufficient if one’s inner disposition remains tainted; he ranks inner purity alongside sacrifice and truth, emphasizing its supremacy in practice.
