Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
तपसाड<<राध्य वरदं देवं गोपतिमी श्वरम् । लेभे संवरणो भार्या वसिष्ठस्यैव तेजसा
tapasā ārādhya varadaṁ devaṁ gopatīm īśvaram | lebhe saṁvaraṇo bhāryāṁ vasiṣṭhasyaiva tejasā ||
ດ້ວຍຕະປະສະຍາ ພະຣາຊາສັມວະຣະນະໄດ້ບູຊາໃຫ້ພຣະເທວະຜູ້ປະທານພອນ—ອົງຈອມເຈົ້າ ຜູ້ຄຸ້ມຄອງແລະອະທິປະໄຕ—ເປັນທີ່ພໍໃຈ; ແລະດ້ວຍເຕຊະ (ພະລັງທາງຈິດ) ຂອງວະສິດຖະ ພະອົງໄດ້ຕະປະຕີເປັນມະຫາເມຍ.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Legitimate success—especially in matters shaping lineage and dharma—arises from tapas and proper propitiation, and is mediated by the moral-spiritual authority of a sage; Vasiṣṭha’s tejas functions as the enabling force for the rightful marriage.
Vasiṣṭha narrates that King Saṁvaraṇa, after worshipping the boon-giving Lord (here understood as Sūrya), receives Tapatī as his wife, and that this outcome is attributed to Vasiṣṭha’s spiritual power.
