Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)
राज्युवाच अवलिपत॑ मुखं ब्रह्मन् दिव्यान् गन्धान् बिभर्मि च । सुतार्थे नोपलब्धास्मि तिष्ठ याज मम प्रिये
rājñy uvāca—avaliptaṁ mukhaṁ brahman divyān gandhān bibharmi ca | sutārthe nopalabdhāsmi tiṣṭha yāja mama priye ||
ພະຣາຊິນີກ່າວວ່າ: “ໂອ ພຣາຫມັນ, ປາກຂອງຂ້າຍັງເປື້ອນສີຈາກໝາກພູ ແລະສິ່ງອື່ນໆ; ທັງຍັງປະດັບກິ່ນຫອມທິບ ແລະຂີ້ເຜິ້ງຫອມຢູ່. ເພື່ອຈະໄດ້ບຸດ ຂ້າຍັງບໍ່ສົມຄວນຈະແຕະຕ້ອງຂອງບູຊາ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ໂອ ຜູ້ປະກອບຍັດຍາອັນນ່າເຄົາລົບ, ຂໍຈົ່ງຄອຍອີກໜ່ອຍ ສຳລັບພິທີອັນເປັນທີ່ຮັກນີ້—ຈົນຂ້າລ້າງປາກ ແລະອາບນ້ຳເສຍກ່ອນ.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse highlights ritual and ethical discipline: sacred acts (especially those aimed at progeny) require bodily and mental preparedness, including cleanliness and proper conduct, before handling offerings.
A queen addresses a Brahmin officiant and asks him to wait briefly because she has betel-stain and perfumes on her body; she wishes to wash and bathe first so she may properly touch the oblation in a son-seeking rite.
