Educational Q&A

The verse highlights a common ethical-psychological moment: outward restraint (stillness, steady gaze) can coexist with inner agitation (curiosity and excitement). It subtly points to how the mind is easily stirred by novelty and spectacle, even when the body appears controlled.

A large assembly watches someone’s arrival or appearance in an arena-like setting. Everyone becomes still and stares intently, while inwardly they grow restless with the question “Who is this?” and are filled with eager curiosity.
