न मा्महसि धर्मज्ञ वक्तुमेवं कथंचन । धर्मपत्नीमभिरतां त्वयि राजीवलोचने,“धर्मज्ञ! आप मुझसे किसी तरह ऐसी बात न कहें; मैं आपकी धर्मपत्नी हूँ और कमलके समान विशाल नेत्रोंवाले आपमें ही अनुराग रखती हूँ
na māṁ mahasi dharmajña vaktum evaṁ kathaṁcana | dharmapatnīm abhiratāṁ tvayi rājīvalocane ||
ນາງກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ຜູ້ຮູ້ທຳ, ຢ່າໄດ້ກ່າວກັບຂ້າເຊັ່ນນີ້ເລີຍ. ຂ້າເປັນພັນລະຍາຕາມທຳຂອງທ່ານ, ແລະ ໂອ ຜູ້ມີນັຍນາດັ່ງດອກບົວ, ຄວາມຮັກແລະຄວາມສັດຊື່ຂອງຂ້າ ຝາກໄວ້ກັບທ່ານພຽງຜູ້ດຽວ»។
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma within marriage: a wife asserts her legitimate status (dharmapatnī) and insists that speech and intention remain aligned with righteous duty, emphasizing fidelity and ethical restraint.
In the course of Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a woman responds to a man addressed as ‘dharmajña’ and ‘rājīvalocana,’ rejecting an improper or unsettling suggestion and reaffirming that she is his lawful wife devoted to him alone.
