वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes orderly transmission of knowledge: names are not merely labels but encode sequence and context. In genealogical narration, accuracy of order preserves historical and ethical understanding of lineage and responsibility.
Vaiśampāyana informs the king that Dhṛtarāṣṭra had one hundred sons and, beyond them, one daughter, and instructs that the sequence of names given corresponds to the sequence of their births.
