Suta Goswami (narrating the Purva-Bhaga account to the sages, describing the devas’ encounter with Shiva)
It highlights anugraha—Śiva’s grace—symbolized by His glance; in Linga-pūjā, the devotee seeks this same compassionate recognition from Pati (Śiva), which sanctifies worship and makes it spiritually fruitful.
Śiva appears as Bhava/Hara, the supreme Pati who upholds the cosmos and dissolves suffering; His mere glance is sufficient to confer reassurance and upliftment, showing His sovereignty and compassion beyond ritual complexity.
Pranāma (reverent bowing) and darśana-bhakti are emphasized—humble surrender that prepares the pashu (individual soul) for Śiva’s grace, a key inner attitude aligned with Pāśupata-oriented devotion.
