भूदेवी ससागराम्भःसप्तद्वीपा वसुन्धरा भूरादिचतुर्दशभुवनानामाधाराधेया प्रणवात्मिका भवति॥१७॥

IAST Transliteration

bhūdevī sasāgarāmbhaḥsaptadvīpā vasundharā bhūrādicaturdaśabhuvanānām ādhārādheyā praṇavātmikā bhavati ||17||

Translation

ಭೂದೇವಿಯು ಸಮುದ್ರಜಲಸಹಿತ ಸಪ್ತದ್ವೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುವ ಭೂಮಿ—ವಸುಂಧರಾ. ಭೂದಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಚತುರ್ದಶ ಭುವನಗಳ ಅವಳು ಆಧಾರವೂ ಆಧೇಯವೂ ಆಗಿ, ಪ್ರಣವಾತ್ಮಿಕಾ (ಓಂಕಾರಸ್ವರೂಪಾ) ಆಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ॥೧೭॥

Academic Translation

The Goddess Bhū—(as) the Earth, bearing the seven continents with the waters of the oceans—(is) Vasundharā; she is the support and the supported (i.e., the ground and what is grounded) of the fourteen worlds beginning with Bhū, and she becomes of the nature of Praṇava (Oṃ).
