पुण्यसंख्या च तीर्थानां ब्रह्मणा विहिता पुरा । दानाध्ययन संज्ञानां मुक्त्वा द्वारवतीं कलौ

Transliteration

puṇyasaṃkhyā ca tīrthānāṃ brahmaṇā vihitā purā | dānādhyayana saṃjñānāṃ muktvā dvāravatīṃ kalau

Translation

ಹಿಂದೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ತೀರ್ಥಗಳ ಪುಣ್ಯಮಾನದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ಕಲಿಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಾರವತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದಾನ, ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಧರ್ಮಕರ್ಮಗಳ ಪುಣ್ಯ (ತೂಲನೆಗೆ) ಕ್ಷೀಣವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
