यस्याः सकृज्जलस्नानं स्पर्द्धते ब्रह्मविद्यया । तेन वै गोमती सेयं सर्वतीर्थोत्तमोत्तमा । ब्रह्मज्ञानेन मुच्यंते प्रयागमरणेन वा । स्नानमात्रेण गोमत्यां मुच्यते पूर्वजैः सह
yasyāḥ sakṛjjalasnānaṃ sparddhate brahmavidyayā | tena vai gomatī seyaṃ sarvatīrthottamottamā | brahmajñānena mucyaṃte prayāgamaraṇena vā | snānamātreṇa gomatyāṃ mucyate pūrvajaiḥ saha
ಯಾವಳ ಜಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾತ್ರವೂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವಿದ್ಯೆಯ ಫಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಗೋಮತೀ ಸರ್ವತೀರ್ಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಉತ್ತಮೋತ್ತಮ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದಲೋ, ಪ್ರಯಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಹತ್ಯಾಗದಿಂದಲೋ ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಗೋಮತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾತ್ರದಿಂದಲೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜರೊಡನೆ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ।
