ब्रह्मोवाच । शृणु पुत्र प्रवक्ष्यामि रहस्यं परमं मतम् । एते ब्रह्मविदः प्रोक्ताश्चातुर्विद्या महा द्विजाः

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪುತ್ರನೇ, ಕೇಳು; ಪರಮ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾದ ಮಹಾಮತವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವೆನು. ಇವರು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವಿದರು, ಚತುರ್ವಿದ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಪುಣರಾದ ಮಹಾದ್ವಿಜರು ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿತರು।
