viprā vedavidaḥ śāṃtāḥ kṛtinaḥ śaṃsitavratāḥ | jñānayajñataponiṣṭhāḥ śivabhaktiparāyaṇāḥ

ಅವರು ವೇದವಿದರಾದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರು; ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತರು, ಕೃತಾರ್ಥರು, ವ್ರತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರು. ಜ್ಞಾನ-ಯಜ್ಞ-ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷ್ಠರು, ಶಿವಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಪರಾಯಣರು.
