Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
rathe pracalite mandaṃ jayaśabdamudīrayet | pāhi devi janānasmānprapannāndīnavatsale
Suta Goswami (narrating the Umāsaṃhitā account to the sages, with the verse reflecting a devotee’s addressed prayer to Devī Umā/Parvatī)
Tattva Level: pashu
Mantra: pāhi devi janānasmān prapannān dīnavatsale
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: liberating
It expresses prapatti (total surrender) to Devī Umā and asks for her protective grace—highlighting that divine compassion responds to the devotee’s refuge and humility, a key Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on anugraha (grace).
Though addressed to Devī, it supports Saguna worship in the Shiva Purana: devotees approach Shiva’s household (Śiva–Umā) through heartfelt acclamation and surrender, seeking protection and auspiciousness as part of embodied, devotional practice.
A simple bhakti practice is indicated: during a procession or temple movement (symbolized by the chariot), softly chant auspicious victory-cries and offer a surrender-prayer for protection—optionally paired with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a Shaiva devotional support.
