महापातकवर्णनम् (Mahāpātaka-varṇanam) — “Description of Great Sins and Their Consequences”
न ब्रवीति च यः सत्यं न प्रदानं करोति च । अशुचिर्वाऽशुचिस्थाने यः प्रवक्ति शृणोति च
na bravīti ca yaḥ satyaṃ na pradānaṃ karoti ca | aśucirvā'śucisthāne yaḥ pravakti śṛṇoti ca
ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳದವನು, ದಾನ ಮಾಡದವನು; ತಾನೇ ಅಶುಚಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅಥವಾ ಅಶುಚಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಕೇಳುವವನು—ಶಿವಾಚಾರದಿಂದ ಪತನಗೊಂಡು ಉನ್ನತ ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ।
