putraśca tvatsamo nātha bhavedadbhutaśaktimān | saugandhyaṃ sarvadāṃge me tāruṇyaṃ ca navaṃnavam
Parvati
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
The verse portrays devotion seeking Shiva’s grace for auspiciousness: a divinely empowered progeny and continual inner–outer purity (fragrance) and renewal (ever-fresh youth), symbolizing sustained shakti and well-being under Pati’s (Shiva’s) protection.
It reflects Saguna Shiva bhakti—approaching Shiva as “Nātha” who bestows tangible and subtle blessings. In Linga worship, devotees similarly pray for auspicious qualities (śubha-lakṣaṇa), purity, and Shiva’s sustaining power manifest in life.
While not prescribing a specific rite, the mood aligns with daily Shiva-pūjā—offering fragrance (gandha), and japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to seek Shiva’s anugraha (grace) for renewal, strength, and auspiciousness.
