It highlights the Shaiva ideal of inner purity and steadfast dharma: even prolonged external scrutiny cannot stain one whose mind and conduct are firmly aligned with truth and devotion.
By emphasizing faultless purity, it supports the Shaiva Siddhanta view that approaching Saguna Shiva (through Linga worship) requires śuddhi—purity of intention and conduct—so devotion becomes fit to receive Shiva’s grace.
