It highlights that all ranks—devas, progenitors, and even asura lineages—function under a higher sovereign order; in Shaiva Siddhanta this points to Pati (Shiva) as the ultimate regulator, while individual greatness (like Prahlāda’s) is rooted in devotion rather than mere power.
By showing that even Indra and other rulers derive their station from a higher principle, it supports Saguna Shiva worship (Linga as the accessible emblem of the Supreme) as the practical means to honor the Lord who empowers and appoints all cosmic functions.
A takeaway is to cultivate humility and devotion through daily Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and Linga-pūjā, remembering that authority and strength are secondary to surrender to Shiva, the supreme Pati.
