Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Offering: naivedya
Cosmic Event: manvantara transition: Svārociṣa to Vaivasvata; ritual frame of a Vāruṇa kratu
The verse situates the narrative within precise cosmic cycles (Manvantaras), reminding the seeker that worldly history unfolds in repeating epochs under divine order; in Shaiva Siddhanta this supports discernment (viveka) that liberation depends on turning to Pati (Śiva), not on transient cosmic phases.
By framing events across Manvantaras, the text implies that rites and narratives change in time, while the worship of Śiva—especially through the Linga as the stable, accessible Saguna focus—remains a dependable means for devotion and grace across all ages.
No specific practice is directly commanded in this line; the practical takeaway is to align one’s worship with dharma in one’s present age—steadily maintaining Śiva-japa (e.g., the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and regular pūjā as the constant amid changing epochs.
