It highlights tapas (disciplined austerity) as a sanctifying power that aligns an individual with dharma and the cosmic order; in Shaiva understanding, such purity becomes a fit instrument for the unfolding of sarga under the higher governance of Pati (Shiva).
Though the Linga is not named here, the verse points to the principle that worldly and spiritual fruit arise through purity and disciplined living—foundational attitudes for Saguna Shiva worship, where devotion and self-restraint prepare the devotee to receive Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
The takeaway is tapas: adopting a vrata (vow), steady japa (such as the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and regulated conduct—practices commonly recommended in Shiva Purana contexts for inner readiness and devotional strength.
