Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana teachings to the sages at Naimisharanya, within the Umāsaṃhitā discourse)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It teaches that sincere bhāva (devotional intent) and inner purification make worship spiritually complete; such devotion matures into jñāna (true liberating knowledge) by Śiva’s grace, granting exalted posthumous states and movement toward moksha.
The acts of offering (homa/oblation) and praising (stuti) are classic forms of Saguna worship directed to Lord Śiva; the verse emphasizes that the outer rite becomes truly fruitful when joined with one-pointed inner devotion and purity—key to Linga-centered Shaiva practice.
Perform stuti (hymns to Śiva) and, where appropriate, homa/offerings with a one-pointed mind; the core takeaway is bhāva-yukta upāsanā—devotion plus inner purity—rather than mere ritualism.
