Sthala Purana: Colophon marking the completion of the chapter ‘Śivādbhutalīlāvarṇana’; not a site-specific sthala narrative.
Significance: Liturgical closure (phala-śruti style framing) that sacralizes the recitation tradition of the Śiva Purāṇa.
This is a concluding colophon marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it emphasizes that Shiva’s līlā is preserved as sacred teaching—meant to awaken devotion (bhakti) and right understanding of Pati (Shiva) as the liberating Lord.
By naming the chapter as a description of Shiva’s wondrous līlā, it points to Saguna Shiva—Shiva approached through narrated forms and deeds—supporting devotional contemplation that often culminates in Linga-worship as the central, accessible symbol of Shiva.
The verse itself is a structural closing, but it supports śravaṇa (listening/recitation) and smaraṇa (remembrance) of Shiva’s līlā as a meditative practice; devotees may pair such recitation with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” for focused devotion.
