Spring’s Influence and the Arousal of Kāma
yathā niraṃtaraṃ nityamāgacchati tathā śivam | tannamaskṛtya tatpūjāṃ kṛtvā tatpurataḥ sthitā
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights steady, uninterrupted devotion (niraṃtara-bhakti): approaching Śiva with humility, offering worship, and remaining in His presence—an inner discipline of surrender to Pati (Śiva) that ripens the soul (paśu) toward grace.
By emphasizing namaskāra and pūjā performed “before Him,” the verse supports Saguna-upāsanā—devotion through accessible form and ritual presence (often expressed as Liṅga-worship in the Purāṇa), which stabilizes the mind and opens one to Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
A simple Shaiva practice is implied: approach Śiva daily, offer respectful prostration (namaskāra), perform pūjā (water, flowers, bilva), and then remain quietly before Him—mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
