Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It affirms that sincere inquiry into the highest truth—whether framed through Sāṃkhya or Vedānta—can be “Śiva-giving,” i.e., conducive to auspiciousness and liberation, because their essential intent converges when examined carefully.
By calling the teaching “Śiva-bestowing,” it supports the Shaiva view that right understanding culminates in devotion and realization of Shiva; philosophical clarity steadies Linga-worship (saguna upāsanā) and matures it toward direct insight into Shiva as the supreme reality.
The verse points to svādhyāya (scriptural study) and mananā (reflective contemplation): study Shaiva teachings, reflect on their unity of intent, and integrate this with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to make the inquiry truly “Śiva-giving.”
