Sukta 4.18
उत माता महिषमन्ववेनदमी त्वा जहति पुत्र देवाः । अथाब्रवीद्वृत्रमिन्द्रो हनिष्यन्त्सखे विष्णो वितरं वि क्रमस्व ॥
utá mātā́ mahíṣam ánv avenad amī́ tvā jahati putra devā́ḥ | áthābravīd vṛtrám índro haniṣyán sákhē víṣṇo vitaráṃ ví kramasva ||
ಮತ್ತೆ ತಾಯಿ ಮಹಿಷ (ಮಹಾನ್)ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹೇಳಿದಳು: ‘ಮಗನೇ, ಈ ದೇವರುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.’ ಆಗ ವೃತ್ರನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲು ಉದ್ಯತನಾದ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: ‘ಸಖಾ ವಿಷ್ಣೋ, ಇನ್ನೂ ವಿಶಾಲವಾಗಿ ಪಾದವಿಕ್ಷೇಪ ಮಾಡು; ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಶಾಲಗೊಳಿಸು.’
