ಈ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾದರೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ರಹಸ್ಯಮಯವಾದ ಸೂಕ್ತವು ಪತಂಗನನ್ನು—“ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳಿರುವ” ಸೌರತತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು—ಚೇತನ್ಯದ ಗುಪ್ತ ಸೂರ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಧ್ಯಾನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಋಷಿಗಳು ಹೃದಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದು ಸೂರ್ಯ-ಪಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಅಸುರನ ಮಾಯೆ (ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ), ಮರೀಚಿಗಳು (ಪ್ರಕಾಶದ ಕಿರಣಗಳು) ಮತ್ತು ಋತದ (ಸತ್ಯ-ಕ್ರಮದ) ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವಾಕ್ (ಪ್ರೇರಿತ ವಾಣಿ) ಇವುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

पतंगमक्तमसुरस्य मायया हृदा पश्यन्ति मनसा विपश्चितः । समुद्रे अन्तः कवयो वि चक्षते मरीचीनां पदमिच्छन्ति वेधसः ॥
ಅಸುರನ ಮಾಯೆಯಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತವಾದ ಪತಂಗವನ್ನು ವಿಪಶ್ಚಿತರು ಹೃದಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಒಳಗೆ ಕವಿಗಳು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ದರ್ಶನಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ವೇಧಸರು ಮರೀಚಿಗಳ ಪದವನ್ನು—ಕಿರಣಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು—ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ.

पतंगो वाचं मनसा बिभर्ति तां गन्धर्वोऽवदद्गर्भे अन्तः । तां द्योतमानां स्वर्यं मनीषामृतस्य पदे कवयो नि पान्ति ॥
ಪತಂಗನು (ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯವನು) ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಗಂಧರ್ವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಗರ್ಭದ ಒಳಗೆ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನ, ಸೂರ್ಯಮಯ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಋತದ ಪದದಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿಗಳು ಕಾಪಾಡಿ, ಪಾನಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
