Kumbhakarna roared making loud noises as if proclaiming victory, like the breaking of mountains and reverberating of ocean.
The verse frames the battlefield as a test of inner steadiness: external terror (overwhelming power and noise) should not derail one’s commitment to righteous duty.
Kumbhakarṇa announces his presence with a colossal roar that shakes the surroundings and intimidates opponents.
Implicitly, fortitude—heroes must remain composed even when confronted by awe-inspiring force.
