ऋश्यशृङ्गानयनकथा — The Account of Bringing Ṛśyaśṛṅga
and the Remedy for Drought
स वने नित्यसंवृद्धो मुनिर्वनचरस्सदा ।नान्यं जानाति विप्रेन्द्रो नित्यं पित्रनुवर्तनात् ।।।।
sa vane nityasaṃvṛddho munir vanacaraḥ sadā |
nānyaṃ jānāti viprendro nityaṃ pitranuvartanāt ||
ಅವನು ವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು, ಸದಾ ವನಚರ ಮುನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು; ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

The narration describes Ṛśyaśṛṅga’s isolated forest life—he has no social exposure beyond his father.
