Visvamitra’s Southern Austerity and Trisanku’s Bodily Ascent Aspiration
पूर्णे वर्षसहस्रे तु ब्रह्मा लोकपितामह:।अब्रवीन्मधुरं वाक्यं विश्वामित्रं तपोधनम्।।1.57.4।।
pūrṇe varṣasahasre tu brahmā lokapitāmahaḥ |
abravīn madhuraṃ vākyaṃ viśvāmitraṃ tapodhanam || 1.57.4 ||
ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾದಾಗ ಲೋಕಪಿತಾಮಹ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ತಪೋಧನನಾದ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರನಿಗೆ ಮಧುರವಾದ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
A thousand years passed. The Grandsire of the worlds, Brahma, appeared. He spoke to Viswamitra, the great ascetic, these pleasant words:
Sustained discipline (tapas) aligned with dharma is portrayed as worthy of divine acknowledgment—spiritual status is earned through long, regulated effort.
After prolonged austerity, Brahmā appears and prepares to speak to Viśvāmitra.
Perseverance: the long duration underscores unwavering commitment.
