Revā) Tīrtha Greatness: The Gandharva Maidens’ Curse Narrative (Acchodā Episode Begins
ityukto brāhmaṇaḥ prāha prahasanbāhupāśagaḥ | yuṣmābhirucyate bhadramanukūlaṃ priyaṃ vacaḥ
The brāhmaṇa (unnamed in this verse)
Primary Rasa: hasya
Secondary Rasa: shringara
Type: tirtha
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It highlights courteous, auspicious speech: the brāhmaṇa acknowledges that the others are speaking in a favorable and pleasing manner, even while he is restrained.
It indicates the brāhmaṇa’s arms are bound (or he is held in restraint), underscoring his composed and polite response despite adversity.
Maintaining gentle, agreeable speech and recognizing goodwill in others is presented as a mark of inner discipline, even under pressure.
