संतप्ता दुःखशोकेन वनमेव समाश्रिता । तप एव चरिष्यामि करिष्ये कायशोषणम्

saṃtaptā duḥkhaśokena vanameva samāśritā | tapa eva cariṣyāmi kariṣye kāyaśoṣaṇam

ದುಃಖ-ಶೋಕದಿಂದ ಸಂತಪ್ತಳಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಏಕಾಕಿನಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರಣ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನಾನು ತಪಸ್ಸನ್ನೇ ಆಚರಿಸಿ, ತಪದಿಂದ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೀಣಗೊಳಿಸುವೆನು।
