आवसथ्यपदे श्राद्धी सोमलोकपवाप्नुयात् । श्राद्ध कृत्वा चंद्रपदे शक्रलोकं नयेत्पितॄन् ॥ २४ ॥
āvasathyapade śrāddhī somalokapavāpnuyāt | śrāddha kṛtvā caṃdrapade śakralokaṃ nayetpitṝn || 24 ||
ಆವಸಥ್ಯಪದದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಸೋಮಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಚಂದ್ರಪದದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿ ಪಿತೃಗಳನ್ನು ಶಕ್ರಲೋಕ (ಇಂದ್ರಲೋಕ)ಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Kalpa (ritual procedure) is primary: the verse presumes correct placement/position (pada) and proper execution of śrāddha to yield specific, text-authorized results.
