Adhyaya 61 — The Second Manvantara Begins: The Brahmin’s Swift Journey and Varuthini’s Temptation on Himavat
वरूथिन्युवाच किं ते नाहं प्रिया विप्र ! रमणीयो न किं गिरिः ।
गन्धर्वान् किन्नरादींश्च त्यक्त्वाभीष्टो हि कस्तव ॥
varūthinī uvāca kiṃ te nāhaṃ priyā vipra ramaṇīyo na kiṃ giriḥ | gandharvān kinnarādīṃś ca tyaktvā abhīṣṭo hi kas tava ||
ವರೂಥಿನೀ ಹೇಳಿದಳು—ಓ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ, ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾಯಿತು? ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಳಲ್ಲವೇ? ಈ ಪರ್ವತ ರಮಣೀಯವಲ್ಲವೇ? ಗಂಧರ್ವರು, ಕಿನ್ನರರು ಮೊದಲಾದವರನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ನೀನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೀ?
