Adhyaya 56 — The Descent and Fourfold Course of the Ganga; Jambudvipa’s Varshas and Their Conditions
पपात मेरुपृष्ठे च सा चतुर्धा ततो ययौ ।
मेरुकूटतटान्तेभ्यो निपतन्ती ववर्तिता ॥
papāta merupṛṣṭhe ca sā caturdhā tato yayau /
merukūṭataṭāntebhyo nipatantī vavartitā
ಅವಳು ಮೇರುಪರ್ವತದ ಬೆನ್ನಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಳು; ನಂತರ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯತೊಡಗಿದಳು. ಮೇರುವಿನ ಶಿಖರಗಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಳಿಜಾರುಗಳ ಅಂಚುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾ, ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು।
