Adhyaya 49Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture

इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणे सृष्टिप्रकारणनामाष्टचत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः ।

ऊनपञ्चाशोऽध्यायः- ४९ ।

क्रौष्टुकिरुवाच ।

अर्वाक्स्रोतस्तु कथितो भवता यस्तु मानुषः ।

ब्रह्मन् ! विस्तरतो ब्रूहि ब्रह्मा समसृजद्यथा ॥

ಇಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಾರ್ಕಂಡೇಯ ಪುರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ-ಪ್ರಕಾರ’ ಎಂಬ ನಲವತ್ತೆಂಟನೇ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯವು ಸಮಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಈಗ ನಲವತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತನೇ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕ್ರೌಷ್ಟುಕಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ನೀವು ಮಾನವ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಪ್ರವಾಹವನ್ನು (ಅರ್ವಾಕ್-ಸ್ರೋತಸ್) ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ; ಹೇ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ।”
