दानानि चैव देयानि ब्राह्मणेभ्यो मनीषिभिः ।

यद्यदिष्टतमं लोके यच्चापि ययितं गृहे ॥

dānāni caiva deyāni brāhmaṇebhyo manīṣibhiḥ /

yady adiṣṭatamaṃ loke yac cāpi yayitaṃ gṛhe

Translation

ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರಿಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ದಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು—ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದುದನ್ನೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದುದನ್ನೂ.
