विश्वासो न तु कर्तव्यो राज्ञा मित्राप्तबन्धुषु ।
कार्ययोगादमित्रेऽपि विश्वासीत नराधिपः ॥
viśvāso na tu kartavyo rājñā mitrāptabandhuṣu /
kāryayogād amitre 'pi viśvasīta narādhipaḥ
ರಾಜನು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಆಪ್ತರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಬಂಧುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಂಧವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಇಡಬಾರದು. ಆದರೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಜನಾಧಿಪತಿ ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಇಡಬಹುದು।
