Adhyaya 27 — Madālasa’s Instruction to King Alarka: Royal Ethics, Self-Conquest, and Statecraft
प्रागात्मा मन्त्रिणश्चैव ततो भृत्या महीभृता ।
जेयाश्चानन्तरं पौराः विरुध्येत ततोऽरिभिः ॥
prāg ātmā mantriṇaś caiva tato bhṛtyā mahībhṛtā /
jeyāś cānantaraṃ paurā virudhyeta tato 'ribhiḥ
ಮೊದಲು ರಾಜನು ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಜಯಿಸಬೇಕು; ನಂತರ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು, ಆಮೇಲೆ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು. ಅನಂತರ ನಾಗರಿಕರನ್ನು ಸಮ್ಯಕವಾಗಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ತರಬೇಕು; ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕು।
