Educational Q&A

The verse highlights disciplined readiness aligned with dharma: before action, one equips oneself carefully and proceeds with steady resolve. The Hanumān-emblem on the banner evokes protective strength and devotion, suggesting that righteous effort is supported by remembrance of higher ideals.

Arjuna puts on protective finger-guards made from iguana-hide, takes up his bow-and-arrow equipment, and departs toward the north, identified by the banner bearing Hanumān’s emblem.
