Draupadī–Bhīmasena Dialogue on Suffering, Kāla, and Daiva
स्त्रीणां चित्तं च दुर्ज्ञेयं युक्तरूपौ च मे मतौ । सैरन्ध्री प्रियसंवासान्नित्यं ककणवादिनी,'स्त्रियोंक हृदयको समझ लेना बहुत कठिन है, हमें तो यह जोड़ी अच्छी जान पड़ती है। सैरन्ध्री अपने प्रिय सम्बन्धके कारण जब रसोइयेको हाथी आदिसे लड़ानेकी बात की जाती है, तब (अत्यन्त दीन-सी होकर) सदा करुणायुक्त वचन बोलने लगती है
strīṇāṃ cittaṃ ca durjñeyaṃ yuktarūpau ca me matau | sairandhrī priyasaṃvāsān nityaṃ kakaṇavādinī ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ದುರ್ಜ್ಞೇಯ; ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಜೋಡಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಿಯ ಸಹವಾಸದ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸೈರಂಧ್ರೀ ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಕರುಣಾಮಯ ಮೃದು ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
