Pulastya’s Instruction
ततो गच्छेत धर्मज्ञ दधीचस्य महात्मन:,धर्मज्ञ राजन! तदनन्तर महात्मा दधीचके लोक-विख्यात परम पुण्यमय, पावन तीर्थकी यात्रा करे। जहाँ तपस्याके भण्डार सरस्वतीपुत्र अंगिराका जन्म हुआ
tato gacchet dharmajña dadhīcasya mahātmanaḥ | dharmajña rājan tad-anantaraṃ mahātmā dadhīcakaṃ loka-vikhyātaṃ parama-puṇyamayaṃ pāvanaṃ tīrthaṃ yātrāṃ karet | yatra tapasyā-bhāṇḍāraḥ sarasvatī-putra aṅgirasā janma abhavat |
ಅನಂತರ, ಹೇ ಧರ್ಮಜ್ಞ! ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ದಧೀಚಿಯ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು. ಹೇ ಧರ್ಮಜ್ಞ ರಾಜನೇ! ಬಳಿಕ ಲೋಕವಿಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ, ಪರಮ ಪುಣ್ಯಕರವಾದ, ಪಾವನವಾದ ‘ದಧೀಚಕ’ ತೀರ್ಥಯಾತ್ರೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು—ಅದು ತಪಸ್ಸಿನ ನಿಧಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಸ್ವತೀಪುತ್ರ ಅಙ್ಗಿರಸನು ಜನ್ಮಿಸಿದನು.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse frames pilgrimage as a dharmic discipline: one should seek out places sanctified by great sages and austerity, because such tīrthas are described as purifying and as sources of spiritual merit (puṇya).
A speaker instructs a righteous king on the next stage of a tīrtha-yātrā itinerary: after visiting the region associated with the sage Dadhīca, the king is directed to the famed and purifying tīrtha called Dadhīcaka, noted as the birthplace of the sage Aṅgiras, son of Sarasvatī.
