This line functions as a colophon: it teaches attentiveness to textual structure—how the epic frames moral inquiry through discrete chapters and inset tales (upākhyānas), each concluded formally to guide reflection and transition.
The narrator indicates that the chapter has ended: within Vana Parva, in the Draupadī-abduction-related section, the episode concerning Durvīcā has been completed, preparing the listener for the next chapter or narrative unit.
