Nakula’s Adaptive Counsel to Kṛṣṇa in the Kuru Assembly (उद्योगपर्व, अध्याय ७८)
असकृच्चाप्यहं तेन त्वत्कृते पार्थ भेदित: । न मया तद् गृहीतं च पापं तस्य चिकीर्षितम्
asakṛc cāpy ahaṃ tena tvatkṛte pārtha bheditaḥ | na mayā tad gṛhītaṃ ca pāpaṃ tasya cikīrṣitam ||
ಓ ಕುಂತೀನಂದನ! ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಲು ಅವನು ಮರುಮರು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ ಆ ಪಾಪಮಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
अर्जुन उवाच
Steadfast loyalty to righteous bonds and refusal to participate in morally corrupt schemes, even when repeatedly pressured, is presented as a mark of dharma and personal integrity.
Arjuna states that someone repeatedly attempted to estrange him from his own side for Pārtha’s sake, but he rejected the sinful plan and did not consent to the proposed wrongdoing.
