Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition
वाम्भिस्त्वप्रतिरूपाभिरतुदत् त्वां सहानुजम् । श्लाघमान: प्रहृष्ट: सन् भ्रातृभि: सह भाषते
vāgbhis tv apratirūpābhir atudat tvāṃ sahānujam | ślāghamānaḥ prahṛṣṭaḥ san bhrātṛbhiḥ saha bhāṣate ||
ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅಶೋಭನ ಮತ್ತು ಅನుచಿತ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಅನುಜರನ್ನೂ ಮರ್ಮಾಹತಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಪರಮಾನಂದದಿಂದ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಂಡು, ಆತ್ಮಶ್ಲಾಘೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮದಗೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು—“ಇನ್ನು ಪಾಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ನಮ್ಮದು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಏನೂ ಉಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೆಸರು ಮತ್ತು ಗೋತ್ರ ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿದಿವೆ—ಅವುಗಳೂ ಉಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.”
