Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Strength and Preference for Śama
इत्येवं चिन्तयत् कृत्स्नमहोरात्राणि भारत । अनिद्रो नि:ःसुखश्नास्मि कुरूणां शमचिन्तया
ity evaṁ cintayat kṛtsnam ahorātrāṇi bhārata | anidro niḥsukhaś cāsmi kurūṇāṁ śamacin tayā ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಭಾರತ! ಹೀಗೆ ದಿನರಾತ್ರಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಕುರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಗುವುದು ಎಂಬ ಚಿಂತೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಸಕಲ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ।
