Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 58 — Saṃjaya’s Audience and Kṛṣṇa’s Deterrent Counsel (संजय-प्रवेशः कृष्णवाक्यं च)
इन्द्रविष्णुसमावेतौ मन्दात्मा नावबुद्धयते । संश्रयाद् द्रोणभीष्मा भ्यां कर्णस्य च विकत्थनात्
sañjaya uvāca | indraviṣṇusamāvetau mandātmā nāvabuddhyate | saṃśrayād droṇabhīṣmābhyāṃ karṇasya ca vikatthanāt ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಇಂದ್ರ-ವಿಷ್ಣುಸಮಾನ ಅಚಿಂತ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಏಕವಾದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ವೀರರನ್ನು ಮಂದಬುದ್ಧಿ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಅರಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ದ್ರೋಣ ಮತ್ತು ಭೀಷ್ಮರ ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ, ಕರ್ಣನ ಗರ್ವಭರಿತ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಮದಗೊಂಡು ಅವನು ಮೋಹದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆ—ಬರುವ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಬಲಸಮತೋಲನ ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮದ ಗಂಭೀರತೆಯನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಳೆಯಲಾರನು.
