यदि शक््यो मया जेतुं जामदग्न्य: प्रतापवान् | दैवतानि प्रसन्नानि दर्शयन्तु निशां मम,यदि प्रतापी जमदग्निकुमारको जीतना मेरे लिये सम्भव हो तो प्रसन्न हुए देवगण रात्रिमें मुझे दर्शन दें
yadi śakyo mayā jetuṃ jāmadagnyaḥ pratāpavān | daivatāni prasannāni darśayantu niśāṃ mama ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಪ್ರತಾಪಶಾಲಿಯಾದ ಜಾಮದಗ್ನ್ಯನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಜಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೆ, ಪ್ರಸನ್ನರಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿ ಅದರ ಸಂಕೇತವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಲಿ.
