ददात्यस्मद्विधो<मात्यो बुद्धिसाहाय्यमापदि । वायसस्त्वेष मे राजन् ननु कार्याभिसंहित:
dadāty asmad-vidho ’mātyo buddhi-sāhāyyam āpadi | vāyasas tv eṣa me rājan nanu kāryābhisaṁhitaḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನನ್ನಂತಹ ಅಮಾತ್ಯನು ಆಪತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಲಹೆಯಿಂದ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಓ ರಾಜನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಈ ಕಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಾಧನದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿತ್ತು; ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಹತವಾಯಿತು—ಅದೇ ಗತಿ ನನಗೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಬಹುದು।
