बलं संकर्षणे नित्यं सौकुमार्य पुनर्गदे । रूपेण मत्त: प्रद्युम्मन: सोडसहायो5स्मि नारद
vāyudeva uvāca | balaṃ saṅkarṣaṇe nityaṃ saukumāryaṃ punar gade | rūpeṇa mattaḥ pradyumnaḥ ṣoḍaśa-sahāyo ’smi nārada ||
ವಾಯುದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—“ನಾರದ! ಸಂಕರ್ಷಣ (ಬಲರಾಮ)ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ಅಪಾರ ಬಲವಿದೆ; ಅವನು ಅದೇ ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೀನನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಗದನು ಅತಿಸುಕೋಮಲನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ದೂರವಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪ್ರದ್ಯುಮ್ನನು ತನ್ನ ರೂಪಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಓ ನಾರದ, ನಾನು ಸಹಾಯವಿಲ್ಲದವನಂತೆ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ.”

Vāyudeva addresses the sage Nārada and describes three prominent Yādava figures—Saṅkarṣaṇa, Gada, and Pradyumna—each dominated by a particular trait (strength, delicacy, or beauty-pride). Because they are preoccupied with these traits, Vāyu laments that, despite having such ‘helpers’ (even said to be sixteen), he experiences himself as unsupported.
